History of Hobby
The company first started back in 1967 and has been based on the same site in Fockbek, near Rendsburg in Germany. More than 40 years on Hobby is a major player in the caravan industry and have been named the World’s leading caravan manufacturer. In 1972 the company celebrated the completion of their 5,000th caravan on the production line. And just another 4 years on and the 25,000th caravan was produced.
As success continued and growth continued at an unprecedented rate and by 1983 had become the leading caravan manufacturer in Germany and the rest of Europe and the company expanded by entering the motorhome market too. By 1985 Hobby had produced its 100,000th vehicle.
During the 90′s Hobby hit several other milestones, the acquisition of the Fendt brand meant a big boost in business, they also built a new service centre to cope with the additional warranty work. The launch of some of the more commonly known model ranges were introduced during this time as well; the Elegance, Excellent and the Exclusive.
Hobby’s main focus throughout the years has been the build quality and customer experience that Hobby caravan owners experience. Ask anyone their opinion of the standing of the Hobby brand within the industry and they will tell you about the incredible quality the product promotes and the reputation it holds.
There is a vast caravan dealer network for Hobby, these dealers are able to carry out routine annual services and supply spares and parts.
